I don't know much about him, but I do know that he sculpted a Thing model kit for Horizon back in the early 90's":

Moto Hata has been around for a while, mostly in the special effects ind. for movies. But he had sculpted a number of pieces for Horizon Models like the Thing Phil showed, and the Hulk, and the Terminator kits. Great artist!

Well, I think the sculpt is a beauty. I'm not too sure about the new design of the movie version of the Thing myself....but the sculpt looks really well done. I just hope the movie is good!!!!!

Its such a good likeness to the movie one thats what i like about it. Not the fact that the Movie look isn't that great but the sculpt is excellent.
