What Have I Done to Deserve This? (1984)
7/10

Fast moving, never boring, fly on the wall look at all manner of characters,
with an odd level of humor. Most of the story centers around housewife Gloria.

Godzilla Minus One - 5/10

I saw all the praise for this movie, the box office grosses and then the Oscar it received, so was stoked when it came to Netflix.

Got to say, it was okay, but just another Godzilla movie. I guess I was expecting something more.

Tuesday - 7/10

A solid start and strong ending, but the lull in the middle felt like had pacing issues and got a bit off track for me. Maybe that is the point of how one processes grief with it not being a linear trajectory. Strong performances by the two leads helped carry an interesting twist on the premise of death being manifest in your life.

As someone who held the Road Warrior in the same esteem as the original Ghostbusters (and Back to the Future and Terminator, etc.) this series of ratings is a wild whiplash of emotions.

The Social Network. 9.5/10

Showed this to my teenage girls last night and they were intrigued. It was funny having to explain Napster to them.

Flesh for Frankenstein (1973)
5/10

Not terrible. Not Excellent. Somewhat dated.
Somehow watchable. Difficult to Rate.

Dune: Part Two (2024)
9/10

Next level. Unbelievably consistent when it comes to everything audio visual.
Part of me wanted to award Dune 10/10
The fact is, did the story mean 10/10 to me? ..not really.

Seeing the large battles, hearing the non English language spoken at times, took me back to Game of Thrones and Daenerys

Godzilla 2014 - 8/10. This could've been a 9 or 9.5 for me if the writers didn't kill off the best character for poor reasoning. This is the biggest what if for me out of any monster movie I've ever seen. I remember being so frustrated walking out of the theatre because of this. That frustration is probably why I never bothered to watch it again until today, but I wanted to compare it to Minus one.

I actually need to drop Godzilla Minus one to a 7/10 because 2014 is vastly superior in almost every way now that I have seen both within a couple of weeks. Minus one is just average at everything when it comes to a good monster film.
