Re-watched this recently. Forgot how fantastic the visuals are. The painted backgrounds, the dark but uplifting story, great voice acting, all from 1982. We need that kind originality of the 80's in this day and age.
Terrific movie!

furiosa - 9/10

dont know what the consensus is on this but i loved it. i dont have much attachment to the original mad max films so i just watched this for what it is - a bad ass romp through a post apocalyptic world with some outrageous characters and gnarly vehicles. i really want to look into building a 1930s chevy like the cranky black at the end of the movie. anya taylor joy was striking in the role and i liked chris hemsworth and his character more than i thought i would. too bad max never really got a chance to shine in his own rebooted franchise but this is still a lot of fun

Flipped across Black Adam on TV tonight, maybe half way through or there abouts. Besides the modern day kid part of the story which was cliche, it was actually pretty good.

Lunana: A Yak in the Classroom (2019) - An aspiring singer living with his grandmother in the capital of Bhutan dreams of getting a visa to move to Australia.

It was obvious that after being relocated to one of the most remote communities on the continent, the teacher would eventually see the positives of living there. Overall, a pretty good Oscar-nominated drama from Bhutan. 7.5/10

Public Enemy (2002)
7/10

Entertaining, the fight scenes are great!
The film appears to want to be taken seriously. At times, due to some of the characters,
it can be humorous also, this includes lead cop, Chul-joong.

Locked In 5/10

Famke Janssen was pretty good.
Everything else was meh and pretty predictable.

Hundreds of Beavers (2022) - In this 19th century, supernatural winter epic, a drunken applejack salesman must go from zero to hero and become North America's greatest fur trapper by defeating hundreds of beavers.

This is like a live-action cartoon with all the sight gags and comedic violence. Zaniest movie I've seen in years. 9/10

The Grey

Just an absolute standout survival movie with great atmosphere, writing and acting. Marc Streitenfeld's score sets the mood with subtle and extremely emotional compositions. It's a wonderful film that flies under the radar. I tripped over it right when it released on BluRay years ago. Went in blind and was amazed.

10/10
