They're not even matting these framed prints anymore? If the signatures are automated I'll matte right to the image edge. Too much white border. The fake signature and edition number are useless, block them out!

I use a portfolio as well. It's the best way to store prints in terms of longevity.

I bought my portfolio and inserts from Baroque Portfolios

I don’t see how the right frame is any different if taken care of properly. I do however like the idea of keeping a larger collection this way without the intent to display it individually.

The quickest way to double your money is to fold it in half and put it back in your pocket.

I was told that it's not good for a print to be rolled up for a long period of time. Not sure if that's true or not though

I need to know if this is true..I have prints with irregular sizes the long ones and they cant fit in portfolios so they are still in their tubes.

I was just saying I think both the options framing and/or portfolio both achieve similar protection. Either one can be a good option. Both are better than leaving them rolled up in the tube obviously. Unless the intent is resell.

Absolutely. As long as the frame features UV protected glass and archival quality matting, you're good to go!

Question

Speaking of the tube, what is the best way to unroll prints out from the shipping tube? Wonder if anyone has experience or knowledge in professional framing... is there a pro tip or something to unrolling them and getting them ready for either a portfolio page or a frame?
