You might be right Bulls and since Sideshow seems to have lost the license for GOTG pieces, I think this piece might be all we will get from the movie. It's a shame because there could have been some great possibilities for a line from this property.

Was it confirmed that SS lost their GOTG license or is it that they decided not produce the statues?

I'd be shocked if they actually "lost" it. More likely they just decided against the line for other reasons. It is all a bit suspect though. Would love to get some official confirmation either way.

It's not confirmed but they did say in so many words that they won't be producing their Star Lord and Rocket PFs they teased a few months ago. The reasons why is anyone's guess. Maybe they will revisit them when GOTG2 is released.

I don't think they can just suddenly lose a specific portion of the Marvel license like that. They probably just decided to prioritize elsewhere.

Sideshow very seldom strikes while the iron is hot anyway so what's a few more years going to matter?
It doesn't really matter to me at this point because Gentle Giant will be getting my money for this property.

I really want a sculpted Star Lord collectible. Sideshow has unsurprisingly disappointed me with their abandonment of the license.
