Safe to store like this?

Starting to wonder if my attempt at good storage is a bad move, and would seriously appreicate some input.

Main concerns are mold and bugs laying eggs in the cardboard... I've been adding 3-5 silica packets to each box and completely wrapping them in plastic packing wrap.
The empty ones go to the garage(no climate control)
The occupied ones stay in the home.

I became concerned when I noticed is the bag I keep my silica packets in would puff out after a while.

I know action figure plasticizers will get sticky if able to breath, but same for PS and vinyl?

not sure if you posted a pic. If you have the boxes in a plastic bag and they are not touching the floor or walls, you have nothing to worry about if they are stored in a garage or attic.

I placed b my boxes of giant bags in the attic and garage. I don't know if that's best, but that's how I have them

Kept a bunch of boxes in my shed which bordered my woods for a few years. Nothing special. They were all totally fine.

Now I've moved and I keep all of my boxes in the attached garage, and same thing. Totally fine as is.

never put the brown boxes on concrete, you want them on wood or a pallet lifted off the concrete, the cardboard will soak moisture and get mold and mildew.

so if you rent storage have them on wood

I personally shrink wrap all of my boxes and keep them on shelves in my garage. I've got boxes that have been in my garage for over a decade and they still look like the day I received them. Just keep the boxes out of direct sunlight. The color on art boxes can fade over time if exposed to direct sunlight over a long period of time.

(Had to make a correction above)
I bought a boxed tmnt scumbug that was came plastic wrapped and its unpainted plastic is terribly sticky, but thats cheap plastic.

The kind of covering I am using is a giant non adhesive cling wrap you can find in packing/shipping. Its like "Saran wrap" but stretches tight and clings great. Because of the grip it makes carrying and stacking a breeze.

Maybe the cheap plastics in the wrap will do the same.
