Tank Girl - reboot
'Margot Robbie has tapped her Dreamland director Miles Joris-Peyrafitte to steer her Tank Girl reboot. Robbie is producing the adaptation of the Jamie Hewlett and Alan Martin comic through her LuckyChap Entertainment banner and is set to star in the sci-fi action movie, with Joris-Peyrafitte now set as director.'
'Collider broke the news that Robbie has tapped Miles Joris-Peyrafitte to direct her Tank Girl reboot. The two had worked together on the 2019 period drama Dreamland, which Robbie had also starred in and produced. Now, Joris-Peyrafitte will be steering the ship for the adaptation of the cult comic, which is still in early development and waiting on a script, according to Collider. The film is being developed as a starring vehicle for Robbie, but the Birds of Prey actress reportedly won’t commit to star until a script is finished.'
I used to read Tank Girl in Deadline magazine. The first live action film was a bit of a flop.
It's great news that Margot Robbie could star in a new Tank Girl movie.
Who knows, a 1/4 scale statue of Tank Girl could happen after-all
I've always liked this image.
I have the comic with this cover stored somewhere. The background color is black (not red).

I would love a REAL Tank Girl movie with Aussie accents and input from the creators Alan Martin and Jamie Hewlett. The old Tori Petty film was a disaster.

It is always interesting when a reboot is discussed finding out how many people remember the original. I was surprised how much Tank Girl awareness there is. I cautious, but think Robbie could pull it off.

Oops, I meant Lori Petty of course.
I was a fan of the first Dark Horse series and while thankful at the time that Tank Girl made it to the big screen at all, was ultimately disappointed at how little resemblance the movie bore to the book.
It's similar to how I feel about the X-Men movies.

I was never a fan of the book outside of the Bolland covers, which were always stellar. The movie didn't improve my view of the material.
I find it odd that Hollywood is looking at this peculiar IP. Especially since there are others that would be more easily translated for mass consumption and would get the Hardcore comic buffs into the theaters.
I'm still wondering what happened to that Mature, Serious take on Zorro that seems to have been abandoned.

That's because the movie is terrible! It's like saying the Batman and Robin movie didn't improve my view of Batman.
