1/4th and 1/3rd scales in inches...

Ok I'm not so great at this and I'm dead tired but just to make sure, how many inches long and wide would a typical head of a 1/4th scale figure be?

I'd like to make sure I get these right of course
Thanks for all your help guys.

Hello,

A 1/4 scale male head would be around 2.25 inches, from chin to top of head (Minus hair). Full figure would be 18 inches (For an 8 heads tall figure)
1/3 scale would be 3 inches.
Just keep this in mind- The "Ideal" size of an adult male head is 9 inches. Ideal female- 8.25 inches. So just scale accordingly (By dividing the scale into the actual size)
Hope that helps.

Best,
Rick Force~

BTW- 1/6 head is- 1.5 inches
1/8 is- 1 & 1/8 inches..... Also-a good idea is to make a photocopy of a few different head views in a few different scales for quick reference. An artist whose work I've always appreciated for great figure drawing and proportions is Andrew Loomis. Jack Hamm is another. There are many, but look those guys up. You'll be glad you did.

okay so I've been tring to figure out scale for awhile now with little luck. When I first started looking for info on how to sculpt I came across a site that had the formula to convert normal size and scale down. But I cant find it any more which sucks because this seems to be some top secret stuff. I can find no clear answer so I've tried to convert some sizes to help any having this problem.
this post helped but was still unsure of full statues in inches for some sizes so help me if I'm wrong
please
1/3 = 3" head= 24" statue
1/4 = 2.25" head = 18" statue
1/6 = 1.5" head = 12" statue
1/8 = 1 1/8" head = 9" statue

Yep, those are right. Just remember that a 1/1 scale piece is based on the premise of a 6 ft tall male figure. Hence, 1/3 is 2 ft (24"), 1/4 is 1.5 ft (18")...
