Revenge 2/10 Was hoping for a modern day "I Spit on Your Grave" kind of vibe, but just crap, and you have to read subtitles
In the Mouth of Madness 6/10 I can't believe I had never seen this one.
The Changling (1980) 4/10 I had always heard what a great movie this was. Pretty MEH if you ask me.

Yes, Rush was really good. I’d put FvF slightly above it.

Godzilla King of the Monsters - 5/10
Disappointing follow up to what I thought was a pretty darn good monster/disaster film in 2014’s Godzilla. Unlike that film the human element doesn’t resonate at all. In fact all the character’s actions, forced comedic quips and questionable motives are a downright annoyance and reduce the impact of the monster action. On the plus side the spectacle is at times impressive and the film looks/sounds amazing.

Hellboy, I can’t believe you didn’t like The Lighthouse, wow! You and I usually like a lot of the same movies too.
The Lighthouse was one of my favorites from last year.
Josh-a-tron, thanks. Maybe I’ll check out the other Re-Animator movies.

Honestly I was pretty shocked by how much I didn’t like it. On the surface it looked like something I’d really enjoy and I was pretty excited to see it. While the atmosphere and look of the film were excellent it ultimately lost me with it’s lack of any compelling or coherent narrative. I’m quite fond of obscure and ambiguous films too but this one just felt senseless to me.

Le Mans '66 (2019)
Aka: Ford v Ferrari (2019)
Aka: Ford vs Ferrari (2019)
Aka: Ford versus Ferrari (2019)
10/10
The best new movie I have watched in ages. Christian Bale, Matt Damon are both excellent, as are all the cast.
As a watch once film, I would say Le Mans 66 tops both Joker and Once Upon a Time... in Hollywood (two 'new' movies I rate highly).

Virus double-feature
12 Monkeys - 8.5/10
Very imaginative and thought provoking. Gilliam’s unique and striking visuals coupled with strong performances from Pitt & Willis makes for one of my favorite time travel films. That ending gets me every time.
I Am Legend - 7/10
There is a lot to like in this film. Setting and premise are great. Will Smith turns in one of his better performances. Where it stumbles is in the underdevelopment of the Darkseekers. Had they and their relationship with Neville been fleshed out more I think it could’ve had a greater impact.
