I don't understand the appeal of these life-size versions or the need to price them this high.

I understand both... how awesome is this in your home theater? The price ups the exclusivity feel i guess... Compared to a SS life size statue, this is actually pretty cheap.

"looks" pretty cheap...

Personally, that has got to be one of the worst looking Vaders I have ever seen.

If this is supposed to be reflecting the vintage toys...then the vintage look works much better on a small toy made over 30 years ago.

What is his cape? A big sheet of vinyl?

It's an oversized replica of the classic vintage Vader. While it may not be everyone's cup of tea it does accurately depict the figure in question so I'm confused by the criticism.

I got the lifesized animated leia for $750 and would like this one and boba but the price is a crazy jump I am not even going to consider it. Don't understand how it can be so high, I am pretty sure it is hollow plastic too.

Not that it dosent represent what its supposed too but to clarify why would anyone want to pay that much money to have something that large that really is not appealing. I think thats the point trying to made and i would have to agree.

Well that I can agree with, but to say it "looks pretty cheap" and that it's "one of the worst looking Vaders" as if to compare it to other interpretations of the character seems unfair. They weren't trying to make the definitive life size Vader but instead a life size replica of a classic action figure. In that they succeeded. It's not going to look any more impressive than what it's based off of so it shouldn't be held to a higher standard.

Is there really a market for this? Very sylized for my tastes but the price is more than reasonable for a 1:1.
