Have to disagree. Not sure how you'd modern up Palpatine. The PF's headsculpt looks fine and he's covered up in fabric.

you are completely wrong. It holds up perfectly well. I should know, as I own it.

As for the royal guard, this is AWESOME! A NEW OT PF and you guys are complaining?

I already own 2 (from myc) and I will still pre-order 2 from SS, unless they ask stupid money...then I will wait for a deal in the aftermarket.

Great announcement. The star wars PF line is NOT dead!

I actually really like this. I’ve always loved the Royal Guards and since all they do is stand around, the pose makes sense - even if boring. I really hope they have a new Emperor on Throne coming soon. Would pair nicely with a set of these.

PS - the exclusive should be a 2-pack with a switch out blaster arm. All for the low low price of $1249.

They did a PF of the Emperor in his chair a while back. But to just now come out with the Royal Guard is a bit odd. Especially since they just launched the new Mythos series.

Oh well, I guess I'll just settle for Assajj for now.

Interesting character choice. Was really hoping for an Ahsoka statue. Oh well, hopefully down the line we’ll get one.

Some intern was like: "You guys make the same characters over and over the community has a point" .

Sideshow unveils something totally new in the PF space and Star Wars no less.

Community: "We all hate it and it should be $200."

Intern: "I'll have my things packed by tomorrow"

Honestly how this is a negative if you're a star wars collector is beyond me. A 1/4th scale Royal guard is amazing to add to a Star Wars Collection. How the fabric is done is a legit concern but I've always thought Star Wars statues tend to work well with mixed media. Anyway I'm excited enough might not be a day 1 but I can't see not adding this to my Star Wars statues.

Just a wild guess, but maybe those unimpressed were hoping it was a different character and have no interest in buying this?

For such a popular license the releases seem to have been few and far between, with quality all over the place.

They also went with a good pose when people complained a lot about the poses of Star Wars pfs. I do think if it was a Mandalorian pf the the board would’ve went nuts though.
