Okay, Washington residents... heads up.
My wife and I have decided to either buy or rent either a condominium or apartment (if in a nicer area) in the greater Seattle area, as I'm up there so much for my studio work. We may eventually sell our house down here in Oregon, may rent it out.. may whatever.. not sure. May buy a house in Washington eventually if it turns out we enjoy the place more, as we have friends in both states (plus, she's getting tired of Oregon.. haha).
But what's a good area around Seattle to live in? Bellevue and Bellingham (sp) are two of the nicer areas, right? What other nice areas up there are there? I drive 6 hours to my studio in Bellevue currently, so two hours away from Bellevue still beats six hours (although we're hoping to take advantage of a lot of the activities Seattle has to offer, so probably the closer the better). How much would an apartment or condo in Seattle cost? I know nothing about what to look for, so any help would be appreciated. We can afford any price range, excluding a penthouse, pretty much.. haha. I'm assuming those are astronomical.
We have two small dogs, also... just throwin' that out there.

I said SHE is getting tired of Oregon.. haha. Not me. Just to nail that point home.
When we moved up here, I was still teaching and she was still finishing her Master's. Now both of those are over and done with, no studios nearby.. and she's not too fond of Portland as Seattle has "more to offer" (her words, and they're probably accurate ones)...to be fair, I haven't looked for studios in Portland, I kind of just overshot it for the larger city to the North. Seattle DOES have more work for me than Portland does, that I DO know.
I myself love all the outdoor sports here in Oregon, and the fact that wake-boarding OR surfing is just an hour (or less) in separate directions, not to mention the gorgeous scenery, but Washington's gorgeous also, and I don't want to deny my wife from having the surroundings and opportunities that she wants, so I'm willing to move.

Thanks Dave.. will do. I'll be up again next week, I'm done with my studio work for the summer in early July, but it'll start up again in September or so.
Cyn's actually going to France for a month in August or September, so I'll have plenty of free time.

Haha.. I've lived East and West Coast, seriously... Washington doesn't seem to have as much of the "small-town feel" as a lot of Oregon does, with our po-dunk cities and such, but it's also not THAT bad, either.
You guys are huge Oregon supporters, obviously. I love it here also, that's why we're not certain if we'd be selling this house while just renting a condo or something up North at the same time.
Good times, good times.
