Arms, branches and of course the Hobbits will all likely plug into the body and be packed as separate pieces. There are far more complex pieces out there than this. I doubt there will be anything more than the random issues which can plague any statue in the shipping process.

I was thinking the same thing. It's being advertised as 1/6 scale, so the Hobbits should have the same size as the individual Hobbit statues they made. Their Bilbo and Gollum (from The Hobbit) are amazing, so it shouldn't be difficult to apply quality paint on that scale. The proto is a bit disappointing in that regard though.

I think the only disappointing thing about the whole statue is the hobbits likeness which could be a lot better. Although the rest of the statue is so impressive it's forgivable.

Exactly the price I predicted. If true I’m in. Weta Bucks will shave off another $350 or so for Gold Members too.
