im glad JJ is only doing one film. its good to mix it up to keep the films fresh. its good to know that they are using a different director for the next film. but what im more surprised about is that the same director will be doing the next 2 films? i would much prefer to see a different director for the 3rd and final installment of the trilogy. to keep that feshness aspect going. just like they did for the OT.
so much for trying to do things like they did 30 years ago.
this was one element of making these new films i was hoping for to come through the most. hopefully it will work out.
i guess 2 out of 3 aint bad..
maybe something will come up and they will get a different director. thats what happened in ROTJ when the job was fist offered to David Lynch and then he didn't want to do it so Lucas offered it to David Cronenberg. but then director Richard Marquand finally got the gig.

That's exactly how I feel as well. I'm interested in the new ones and want to see them but they will never bring the same wonder and excitement and joy as the OT did when I was a kid.

It could happen. Fellowship of the Ring had that magic IMO. Everything has to work flawlessly - the cast, music, effects, story, etc.
