Warm water and some dish soap works. Baby wipes not so much... they started to take paint off.

Damn ...good to know. That would've been an unpleasant surprise.

I had this happen with 3 of my PVC statues (plasticizers), so I decided to sell off all my PVC stuff... not worth the trouble IMO.

Palmoive dish soap and warm water. I used an old t-shirt to remove most of the water and let the air dry. Indy was really bad. I took him apart and let him soak in some warm water with the dish soap. Then would rinse him in warm water and squirt soap in my hand as needed to get some of the extra stickiness off of him. It did take awhile.

Sweet jeezus...I had no idea such a thing could be an issue for PVC.

Are we talking about statues that have been in storage or just out in the open?

What causes them to get "sticky"?

Indy has been out in the open on a shelf at work. He's been out in the open for 4-5 years. The last 2 years he's been sticky but was afraid to do anything. I recently rearranged my collection at work and figured I'd take him home and clean him up. He's been away from natural light but is exposed to dust and florescent lights in the office.
