Chris Conidis - Artist on eBay. Anyone else liking his work?

I find Chris Conidis' work to be very interesting. He works in ink wash and has a very retro style. His work that he's been putting out on The Joker and any Hulk within it is very strong.

Anyone else buying his stuff?

His stuff pops up often in my searches as he does a lot of Hulk. He is talented and his stuff has good eye appeal. The only thing that I am not a fan of is that most of his stuff is copied from something else. In the example you provided, the Hulk and IM are Bowen statues and I recognize the Cap but can’t put my finger on it. He does a good job at matching up images for a nice looking compilation but I prefer something a little more original myself.

The quickest way to double your money is to fold it in half and put it back in your pocket.

No surprise that he can do the type of copy work he does, he is a magician as well. I have one piece I picked up a piece from him when he first started the ebay stuff. Got it cheap, so I was happy at the time.

He actually is a member here and PM’ed me to explain that he used to use statues as reference but doesn’t any more. It came across like he felt he needed to defend himself but I don’t think he did personally. I advised him to open a thread to introduce himself to the members of SF.

I hope he does. I dig his work. That Joker series he is doing is really good.

In the exchange I had with him he comes across as a really defensive person. You get some weird responses to inquires. I guess you chalk it up to being an "artist"...lol.
