I loved spreading my comics, coloring books and games out in the "way back" of the station wagon, lying out on blankets and pillows, as my Dad bombed down the highway. No seat belt at all.

54 & completely remember sitting in the back of my dad's Chevy. When he'd pull up to a roadside drugstore or grocery store, I'd walk in & you'd have to look for the "Hey Kids, Comics" sign to find the spin-rack (usually 2) which could be anywhere in the store. 15, 20, 25 cent comics I remember buying (my $3 a week allowance would set me up). I even remember when I found 15 cent books with 20 cent books. No Wednesday releases, you'd just buy whatever comics on the spinner caught your eye when you happened upon one. The best was when you'd hit a spinner at a 7-11, then your dad would buy you a super-hero, plastic cup slurpee. Big drugstores would have magazine stands & on the bottom, laid flat, would be the over-sized mags. You'd have to dig, but it was there you'd find your Marvel & DC Treasuries. They cost a $1.50-$2, but after the dentists' or doctor's, your parents would buy you one or two. I'm a dino.

While on the topic of comics and our youth, these just came in yesterday. All were signed by Stan Lee, and some were signed by John Romita and Roy Thomas, if they were part of the artist or writing team. I've had these books for at least 25-30 years (now I'm really dating myself), and only got around to grading them now. Some of you may have no idea what these older books are, but they meant a lot to us growing up. Can any of you name them all?
