Have you used it lately? It's just called Super Clean now and doesn't do anything.

I still use alcohol. You don't need to remove all the paint to primer it and go ahead. It's more time consuming I know but rather that than to damage the statue.

In all honesty I'd try the alcohol first but patience is a must. It's not going to work in a matter of hours, but it will do no harm to the material.

Haven't attempted the fence yet, will try and find some time later, but can't understand why they made it so rigid.
Your fence looks good Robban. Did you find it easy to do?

It's not hard, it's just a short project. Be slow and use your thumb and index finger together to shape it slowly.

Thanks Collectorcol.  I found it quite easy to do. I took a pair of pliers and put some tape around the tips, in order to avoid scraping the metall. The shaping took maybe 10-15 minutes.
