And now with the backlash on price and them saying that their creative director is personally overseeing production, I think they are putting all of their eggs in this basket. I really do not think they are going to screw up the paint, because a good portion of the statue community would abandon them. This limited bust is $900 which is crazy and it is very disappointing, but I've spent almost the same price on a 1/6 custom figure and this bust is the best sculpt on a Predator's head I've seen outside of life-size head-only busts that go for thousands. I'm still debating and all of my and the rest of the communities criticism of the price are very valid. It is hard to see a better closed-mouth portrait of the Predator being released by any other company though. I'm going to hold out to see if they drop the price or offer a discount. But if I see a low stock warning I might have to buy it. That's just me though and bearing in mind that this statue is going to be the last statue I'm ever planning on collecting. And definitely the last Predator piece for me.
Spot on. If they don't pull this one off, their brand will go down, guarantee it, GONE. They know this too, they've put everything on the line on this one statue.

I've been tossing and turning for days. AUD price isn't too bad as Sugo has it, $1212 (discounted bonus if deposit via eft). That's around $890 USD or $690 pounds, which is still ridiculous but not as crazy without shipping and taxes. Looks like I'll be tossing and turning over the next few weeks lol.

Just for fun. Predator with corrected eyes. I still prefer wonky eyes. More menacing and animalistic.

If P1 is going to produce these busts to be 1-to-1 like the prototypes (and being honest, they look jaw droppingly superb in their realism), then they need to tell us that.

As much as I respect Prime 1 based on the majority of their past work, they have soured their reputation a bit lately (I don’t have to go into this, we all know what pieces I’m talking about).

They can’t expect us to do a leap of faith with them on this. Not at that price point. Which means, if they are shooting for proto quality, and that’s why the price is so high ….. they need to communicate this, and communicate it aggressively. And back that up with guarantees. If they did..maybe the current situation would be different.

But, Prime 1, don’t expect people to shell out for a prayer.

And P.S.
I couldn’t give two toots about the torso. Just the head. And I don’t care if that head jumps up and winks at me, I’m not shelling out $1000 + for a 1/3 head.

Man that shot looks great. Wonky eyes for me, it looks unpredictable, menacing, disturbing, unsettling and more pissed off that Arnie almost best him at his own game.

Cool

Someone forgot to take off the removable shoulder cannon for the promo shots as the Predator had already shedded the gear when it made this expression.

I know when collectors refer to paint down-grades they are mostly referring to the Big Game Cover Art 1/4 statue. A couple of things about that. 1. Yes, the prototype paint looked way more accurate to the actual movie and looked life-like. 2. The paint is not nearly as bad as those early photos with horrid lighting made them out to be. 3. I honestly think Prime 1 purposely made the paint more like the paint apps on their actual Big Game Predator 1/4 statue. It is more comic like and they initially wanted to sell the Cover Art version as the actual Jungle Hunter, but when they got the go-ahead to make the actual 1/3 statue directly from the movies, they might have slacked on the life-like paint on purpose. This is not an excuse at all and the product should be what the prototype showed, but Prime 1 had never had a paint downgrade as they did on the 1/4 on any other piece. I own the 1/4 and the paint is definitely more comic-like, not "bad" paint but more comic style. Just compare the paint to the Big Game Predator 1/4 to the cover art. It has to be on purpose. There is no gloss on either statue, and we know from Prime 1's alien statues that production is nailed especially with gloss. This is something I see almost no one think about, and it explains a lot of why the statue looks the way it does. It's about licensing and to be honest, I think they also switched the paint to less life-like because they wanted to save that for the 1/3, so people would have a reason to buy both.
