Better late than never, I suppose.
General thoughts/impressions
It's been argued to death, but the criticisms regarding her facial structure and color palette are completely justified. She's off-model and while I knew that F4F had no intention of altering the design when I put my order in, it still leaves a bitter taste..
That said, I'm quite enamored with what we got.
No glaring QC issues.
The sculpt, while not finely detailed, is really impressive. The golden accents/armor are particularly striking.
Perfect example of mixed media being used to compliment a statue rather than obscure it. The loincloth really ties her outfit together to give it that little extra "oomph."
Even though she's not a large, formidable character, this statue carries a ton of presence. She looks very regal, as a princess should.
Everything has a nice heft to it, base and sword included. I'm guessing that the sculpted blade has a metal rod running through it, giving it that weight. Nice touch.
Artificial lighting from above plays off the sculpt in a dynamic, visually pleasing way.
She doesn't photograph well at all. Much more flattering in-hand.
The more I look at her, the more I like her. She's really grown on me.
Edit: I was playing around with my lighting options just now, and up-lighting looks phenomenal. I may try to get a picture in tomorrow just to show you guys. Makes me want to get a small spotlight to put below her.
If all you're looking for is a solid representation of Zelda, look no further. She's the best on the market right now and at a little over $300, you really can't go wrong. However, if you're after the spitting image of Zelda from Twilight Princess, aspects of this piece might leave you underwhelmed.
