I've had 3 sent to me from the US and all three have arrived damaged (some more extensively than others). In all 3 cases Gobby has broken off from the glider. On 2 of the statues I've glued him back and it actually looks o.k. I'm going to attempt to fix the third this weekend.
If some one wants it for a greatly discounted cost then PM me, I'll gladly e-mail pics of the damage etc to you, I've got no need tfor 3 of them, intact or damaged.
Basically what I'm trying to say is of you buy one then pick it up in person, I've found the packaging to be a bit on the measly side considering the fragility of the statue (I guess it doesn't help it being thrown around between the US and the UK either).
That said it really is an awesome piece!
