How much you wanna bet these have basically become GG employee and friends "bonuses"? What a racket by this company. I wonder if the folks buyin' are millionaires or just super obsessive SW fans. I wouldn't give more than $50 for the Holiday version. The reg one came with a broken ear. I'll just reglue 'cuz not worth the hassle of sending back. Why they didn't pack the "fragile" ears separately is beyond me.

The quickest way to double your money is to fold it in half and put it back in your pocket.

Exactly! I love how people try to say ebay bids are fake....

There is an interesting article on page 1 of the Sunday NY Times about the sale of fraudulent (knockoff) items on eBay and how little they are doing about it. Tiffany & Co has a lawsuit against eBay which, if successful, could have significant repercussions with respect to how ebay does business.

This is actually a long time coming...

I've heard numerous legal debates on TV about extremely iffy eBay practices. The primary issue discussed was whether or not eBay could/should be held liable if it knowingly allows (known and previously warned) sellers to continue peddling counterfeit and contraband items. The thing is if eBay knows who these people are, the argument is that it can be seen as aiding and abetting. This is especially the case because eBay profits from looking the other way whenever it can.

Ebay is opening itself up to an inevitable huge class action suit. While it may not be like going after the tobacco companies, it's along the same lines. Playing stupid and ignorant won't last forever.

As an aside, Warner Brothers has a staff of workers who's sole purpose is to go through eBay and look for conterfeit product and shut it down.

Yeah, it's definitely not a fake. I was the one who noted in the other thread that the first one on Ebay sold for over $3,000. I'll see if I can find the auction somewhere.
