Advice on ideal entertainment set up

Just moved and am starting over on a TV/game room. Haven't been in the market for entertainment items for about 7 years and wanted some advice on what the best set up would be in terms of equipment as well as services (Netflix, Apple TV, amazon prime etc).

If you have a big collection of DVD's or Blu-Rays you can rip them to your Hard Drive and then you can watch movies anytime you want without having to look for the disc's..

There's a ton of add-ons like Netflix and Amazon Prime you can add to it also.. check it out.
