True Detective - SPOILERS

HBO series True Detective starring Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson.

True Detective: Official Trailer (HBO) - YouTube
Looks great, long wait till January 2014.

TRUE DETECTIVE Trailer. HBO's TRUE DETECTIVE Stars Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson | Collider

"True Detective is written by Nic Pizzolatto and directed by Cary Fukunaga. The series is described as an “elevated serial narrative” that uses multiple perspectives and time frames. It centers on two detectives, Rust Cohle (Matthew McConaughey) and Martin Hart (Woody Harrelson), whose lives collide and entwine during a seventeen-year hunt for a serial killer in Louisiana. The investigation of a bizarre murder in 1995 is framed and interlaced with testimony from the detectives in 2012, when the case has been reopened. The show is envisioned as an anthology, and these first eight episodes will tell a complete story involving McConaughey and Harrelson’s characters."

First two episodes have been great. It's a slow burner type show so don't expect a whole lot of action. Brilliant acting though.

After two episodes I'm really enjoying this. Dark and intelligent.

A complex, engaging and at times surreal experience. The tone reminds me of Silence of the Lambs. Wonderfully acted by both McConaughey and Harrison. McConaughey, especially is quite captivating.

I love the slow pace to this show. It is one of the highlights for me. The scenes with McConaughey being interviewed, where he seems to go into a trance is just wonderful to watch.

Just finished the last episode. Wow! As great as this series has been over the first three episodes it just ramped up considerably with episode 4. Great intensity and I love where this is going.

I think this has the potential to be one of the best original series HBO has ever produced. Matthew McConaughey is turning in a masterful performance. This is so well written and the narrative is structured in such a unique way that I'm completely lost in this from start to finish.

Loved the sweeping one-shot of McConaughey going through the houses, was brilliant. Really intriguing show and keeps you hooked trying to find out who is behind everything, but also what happened to the two detectives!
