No they way he stated it to me was as of Oct this year is when
Disney let companies do NC. Up to then there was license fight

OK, hopefully all companies are immediately looking to release a Nightcrawler ASAP. I need a 1/6 and 1/4 Nightcrawler for my collection. I hope a bunch of different scaled Nightcrawler statues get pumped out real soon. I don't want Disney to change their mind or any complications to reoccur.

At least XM will have a 1/4 soon by the sounds of it.

I'm all for competition, so I too hope sideshow and other companies pump out more Nightcrawler statues, gives us collectors some choice on what to buy and what looks best! that said, sideshow probably has 14 Batman's they need to do first before they do NC

That’s weird. Nightcrawler has gotten toys, is in videos games, etc, but there was a license issue for statues? Makes no sense.

It does make sense.

There is no such thing as a "standard" license contract, and they can be pretty lengthy and complex. Basically, everything can be negotiated. Plenty could have been in dispute - type of product being sold in a specific region, may not have had it's royalties decided upon; time-to-market; contract length; etc.

There can be multiple licensors, and agreeing on compensation can take a while.

Somewhat similar situation happened with 'Hulk' movie rights. Universal held rights as well, so Marvel couldn't do solo movies - only collaborative ones where Hulk didn't get billing.

And of course, everyone knows about Spidey movie rights - Sony held them completely, and only after negotiation was Marvel able to use him.
