What If Superman Crashed/Was Raised in a Communist Country?

.. or in Nazi Germany? Would he still fight for "truth and justice", or would the ideals that Jor-El/etc tried to instill in him fall on deaf ears?

Isn't this what happened Superman: Red Son?

I didn't read it, I just saw the comic covers and I think he ends up in the Soviet Union instead of the US. Details are sketchy for me obviously because I'm going off cover art alone

And as a sidenote, it's good to see you posting on here more. Hope things are taking a turn for the better for you

Having not read those alternative origin books, I'll offer this...
Going along with the atrocities committed by the NAZI regime would have conflicted with Kryptonian way of life and the teachings of Jor El. Same goes for the things Stalin did.

I think he would have been in conflict, he would have possibly believed propaganda at first, but they could not hide the evil things they were doing and he would have rebelled as he got older.

That is my take on it.

Definitely get 'Red Son' those of you who haven't, it's a great read.

I was gonna say, didn't this get explored in the "Red Son" series, but it looks like you've got it covered.

The problem I have with Red Son is that it isn't a story about what happens if Kal-El lands in the USSR; rather, it's a entire reimagining of the DC Universe where Kal-El just happens to land in the USSR, and that made it not as interesting to me. There were too many peripheral things changed by Millar, like Batman being a soviet dissident rather than Bruce Wayne, Jimmy Olsen being a government agent, and Oliver Queen not being Green Arrow, that had no relation to a change in where Kal-El landed. The story didn't make sense to me.

The "What if Superman crashed in Nazi Germany?" story has been done too. A lot of Elseworlds stories are predicated on the idea of Superman arriving somewhere other than Smallville.

It has? What's the story's name? Would love to read it.

I suspect his costume would be a very drab brown or possibly olive at best.
