‘Jurassic Park’ Author Dies!
Michael Crichton, best-selling author of Jurassic Park and award winning co-creator of TV’s ER, passed away on Tuesday, November 4th in Los Angeles, California. Crichton was 66, and his unexpected death followed a private battle with cancer. A graduate of Harvard Medical School, Crichton wrote cautionary medical and science tales and invited controversy with his sometimes unpopular scientific views. Many of his most famous Science Fiction works, including The Andromeda Strain, Sphere, Twister, and Jurassic Park and its sequels, were also turned into award wining films. In addition to his novels, Crichton was distinguished in the entertainment field as a film and television creator, winning an Emmy, a Peabody and a Writer’s Guild of America Award for his creation of primetime medical drama ER. Crichton is survived by his wife Sherri and daughter Taylor, many friends and countless fans. A private funeral service is expected.
