Hi all,
I was reading CK13's post about 'What statues would you keep...", and it got me to thinking about a piece that I would never sell, that many have never seen, and may never see for sale.
The funny thing is, I got it from a fellow forum member, Zoyvod. This is one of the nicest human beings I've ever had the pleasure to deal with from a forum, and I want to thank him publicly for helping acheive one of my grails. (I'm also wondering where he went, as he hasn't posted in a long time.)
The history on this piece is that it was sculpted by Mark Newman, and was given to the team of creators of the Playstation 2 game, God of War. There are less than 100 of these in existence, and were never available to the general public. I found out about its exsistence by reading David Jaffe's blog, and he mentioned 'a really cool statue given to the creators', but never posted a pic.
That comment got me crawling the web trying to find what the piece looked like, but I never had any success.
Then, one day, I found the website "the sculptor's corner", and it had a lot of the sculptors we all know and love, shown on that site. When I clicked on Mark Newman's link, lo and behold, after a couple of years of searching, I had found the creator, AND great pictures of what has to be the best rendition of Kratos imaginable.
I went so far as to write to Mark, and plead with him to obtain one, but to no avail. I thought I was doomed, but after a chance post of the photos I had found and a request that if anyone knew where I could find my grail to please pm me, unbelievably, Zoy saw my post, and basically gave me this statue. Z, I thank you again.
So with no further ado...
