Someone actually did do that with an XM Phoenix. Looks pretty decent.

I met this guy at C2E2 last year. He showed me pictures on his phone while we stood in the Stan Lee autograph line for hours. I wept.

Seriously though, I can't remember his name. But they guy had an incredible Marvel XM collection. This piece was, of course, my favorite.

I was thinking of picking another DP and have it customized to "Here Comes Tomorrow" Phoenix. There was a private commission sculpted by Tim Miller, it looked fantastic.

Anybody got pics of that Tim Miller custom? That must have cost a pretty penny.

I asked him a couple years ago on twitter if he had final pics but he was still working on it.

The quickest way to double your money is to fold it in half and put it back in your pocket.

Ok, I'll settle. ES of 100 and offered solely to statueforum members?
Do you really need to hire a painter if you are just painting it white? The easiest thing to do is get pearlescent white so no shading is required. Instead of putting the statue in thinner liquid to get rid of the old paint, will sanding with fine sandpaper not work? Mask the gold areas, prime and paint. Just a thought.

I would like to do a variant like the one in my avatar too.

Regarding a white version I think Sideshow has some options to play with here.

Offer it with the EX head. They can sell a boat load of these to people who bought the regular dark phoenix and the green version. Higher ES would sell partly for this head. I like head...I mean this head.

Offer it with the regular head. This will sell mainly to the core collectors and I believe more limited interest meaning a lower ES would be the way to go. Immediate sell out with low risk to Sideshow.

Now let's see what they do.....

They will do nothing because we don't even know if they are doing one.

You overestimate my ability to paint... anything. I would love to do it myself and I'm sure I could do a passable job. Unfortunately, I'm a bit of a perfectionist when it comes to things I do myself and I'd probably end up with a statue with 10+ coats of paint that I would then send out to a painter anyway.

I'd also be down for a "here comes tomorrow" version Phoenix. Love those WIP pics from the Tim Miller commission. Wish we could find a complete picture.
