Bobfrog's XM studios customs

Thought I'd post some of the custom pieces I'm working on right now.

First up some extras for Cap:

Newly sculpted hand and brackets to attach to the back of a spun aluminium shield

Sculpted in Chavant:

Bit of a learning curve trying to get everything right and fix the magnet in but it works nicely

Spun Aluminium 1/4 scale shield with engraved star (based on the movie version). Engraving was made from an illustrator vector which I chucked together.

END RESULT! (well sort of - still need to sculpt the belt pieces that the hand holds onto).

Overall I'm pretty happy with this first version. Just finishing a new version which will hopefully have a cleaner finish to it and I have some better, hopefully more accurate paints to test out.

More to follow...

Thanks mate, much appreciated

Here's something else, I've decided to call it 'deCAPitated'!

I've made a few changes since these pictures to make it look like it dangles more 'correctly' i.e. straight + amended Ultron's head a bit. Im gonna mold and cast him in wax so I can work on him further and show some battle damage. I just wanted to get a clean-ish version done first. Might see if I can carve the eyes out so I can cast them in clear resin too.

Main things I am concerned with are as mentioned the dangle angle (maybe I should copyright that term) and the jaw i.e whether it looks too thick or not. The latter I will probably fi once I've cast a copy to work on for the BD version.

lemme know what u think!

Thanks buddy. He's taking a silicone bath right now so I should hopefully have a prototype by the end of the week. I'm actually thinking of casting the ultron part in a resin / metal powder mix which, once buffed up, should end up looking like real metal. fingers crossed it looks ok.

I've got Thanos on his way this week so I thought I'd post these pics here even though they aren't strictly custom pieces (they made it onto the actual base that was produced - the back two panels which you probably won't see much of. Still it is pretty cool to have a small sculpt of mine on an XM production piece).

Seng asked me to do these two pieces after I met up with him and the XM team on my way through Singapore late last year. I had to sculpt them both to look like mirror images (in sculpey) after which they were sent to Seng for adding to the main base.

I've got a fairly nice idea (I think anyway) for a custom base which I'll make a start on over xmas I think. Will post some sketch ups of it if I get time beforehand though.

I'm envious of your talent... truly awesome. I couldn't even imagine the POWER to just decide to make your own custom adjustments.
