I agree completely. I like the more modern look for display cases and not the grandma style ones

I have seen curios that do not look so "grandma" as the one I posted a pic to. I have seen some that are very basic, unornamental, subtle and of a dark wood finish, after all its only purpose is to show off its content and I think these are functional perfect.

Here are my detolfs that I have painted black and built onto a wooden box to get that bottom shelf off the floor level ... really hated my stuff on the floor. This seems to be the best shelving unit for its cost available, and if built on a box and painted it looks a little better IMO. The only flaw now is its shelf hieght.
I am trying to think of an idea to hold the glass shelves in a different position so I can have three equal shelves on it instead of four ... any suggestions ???? Then it would be perfect for all of the taller Attakus statues. As you can see Vader would look way off centre if I just removed a shelf and put him on the bottom so I built a little felt covered box for him to stand on. Not the perfect solution but it an improvement.

anyone know anything about this?
i didn't see anything that said whether the shelves were adjustable or not
it would definitely be good for smaller stuff like busts and comiquette, and if the shelves are adjustable, a number of PF figures

I agree with Slave, that the Detolf is the best option for its price. I like the felt box risers for the Attakus statue for ur Vader I, but also would like to know if anyone has solutions for spacing or changing the shelf seperations some how

It looks like there is one shelf in the middle that is non-movable for sure, couldn't say about the other ones. I dont like how this one has two front panels meaning there will always be a dividing line down the middle, as well as doorknobs on the glass doors. The price is really good though, its far cheaper than others I have seen about the same size.

I was thinking of trying to find some metalworker who can make a custom metal frame for the detolf with different shelf spacings..not sure how much that would run though
Anyone ever do anything like that?

Price is not bad compared to others($799). Actually, it's much cheaper than others out there. The dimmensions are 75"H x 36"L x 20"D.
