Brian Eno - Here Come The Warm Jets (1974), Before & After Science (1977), My Life in The Bush of Ghosts (w/ David Byrne, 1981)

I'm very familiar with Eno's work as a member of Roxy Music, as well as his production of albums by The Talking Heads, Devo, and U2, but I'd never tried his solo work until now. These three albums are a solid overview of his first decade. Each is a great listening experience, and the second album in particular makes me realize just how much of an influence he had on the Talking Heads' sound.

The Passions - 30,000 Feet Over China (1981)

They were a true one-hit wonder with "I'm In Love With a German Film Star", but this whole album is great - it's like a guide on how to write early '80s New Wave music.

Kaleo - usually both albums (Kaleo and A/B) on random

I have a feeling after I watch the HBO special The Defiant Ones that I will be going back to game changing hiphop and Springsteen

Neil Young - Trans (1982)

After a first track that sounds more like his standard work, the father of grunge tries his hand at electronica, with intriguing results. When this was released, it confounded longtime fans, as well as his record label, but it actually holds up pretty well if you like Kraftwerk, Devo, et al.
