Hi Maverick90!
Welcome to the forum.
My name's Steve, and I'm another West Aussie. Also a collector of original art, comics, and dabbling in resin kits.

Hi Maverick, welcome to the forum. Do you have any secrets to obtaining free artwork that you would care to share?

I haven't actually made any yet, although I have started cleaning what will be my first piece, Deadshot. Jesse gave me an airbrush for Christmas the year before last, and Shanan gave me a compressor the Christmas just gone, so I just need to get a hose and some paints, then we'll see how I go.
Oh, btw...
Ken!

Hi mate.
Sounds interesting, you have to clean them first? As I said, I'm very keen to see how it goes, don't think I'd ever do it myself. Deadshot I would have to think is kinda trickey, there's some fine detail which I imagine is quite difficult. I probably would have started on Silver Surfer, Black Spidey, Havok (the costume which Rocket likes but I don't )

Yeah, cleaning and preparation. You have to wash the pieces first, in order to make sure any mould release is not still on them (which can stop paint from adhering properly). Then you have to remove any seam lines (fortunately the kits I've bought have been very well prepared, so the seam lines are minimal).
I've chosen to do Deadshot first since I think he's going to be less complicated than some of the other kits I have. For one thing, I don't have to worry about painting eyes!
Silver Surfer probably would be pretty easy to start with, particularly if you used Jesse's chrome paint.
