dccowen's Studio

Hi all,

I've been stalking the site for months now. Joined up in June, and I'm finally ready to post my collection.

Understand I'm a Comic and Film guy first. I've only been collecting statues since 2010.
My wife is starting a small collection, which I will add to this forum as I get photos.

I'll also post some of my signed comics and original art from time to time as well as miscellaneous other collectibles.

So Welcome! I look forward to hearing your feedback, and I'll answer any questions you may have!

The Studio as a whole.

It is in a constant state of flux, so as I redesign. I'll post the revised pictures.

I love this site for the simple aspect that you can create a historical record of your collection.

The open slot beneath the X-23 Koto is for my Emma Frost Bowen Modern. I'm currently battling TFAW.com to get it shipped here. They keep sending me the "Clear" Diamond Exclusive. Guh!

Alice – My total obsession.

I've been collecting Alice in Wonderland novels and collectibles here and there for most of my adult life.

When CS Moore released this, I had to own it.

Sorry for the iPhone pics. I love the ability to compose images the way I want. I hate the graininess.

For all you @$$ Lovers out there.
(I'm never sure about swearing on forums. Plus You get the meaning)

I know this forum is image heavy. I really am trying to keep the number of images down, but some I just like so much that I have to share.

Almost all of my statues have a framed comic book, generally signed, or an orinal piece of art associated with them.

DC Bishoujo

Batgirl Bishoujo - Tough to find a signed Barbara Gordon issue. Need one of her writers or artists to show up in Town for a Con.

Catwoman Bishoujo - I love Balent art. Him and the entire creative team signed that Catwoman #1.
Originally I had my Catwoman When in Rome #1 signed by Tim Sale behind it, but that was a LOT of black on black.

Supergirl Koto - The only reason I didn't get the Supergirl Bishoujo is because of her. I had Superman Batman #8 signed by Turner and Loeb behind her, but The Supergirl 1 is brighter and Norm Rapmund is such a nice guy. He deserved to be on display

I'm very selective of my Star Wars collectibles, and I'm becoming more and more critical of the expanded universe as a whole now, but what I display, watch and read, I truly Love!

Leia – A New Hope Maquette – My wife covets this one something fierce

Leia – Koto – My First “Statue” My wife got it for me for X-Mas

Bought it from Eric at Phoenix Con. He is such a nice guy, and a scary good artist!

Dawn - Linsner is probably my favorite artist.

I've been collecting his stuff since Cry For Dawn came out.

X23 vr Lady Deathstrike

One of my favorite comic books of all time was the basis for this statue. I had a couple pieces when this came out, and really battled over if I was going to get it. It was another dark path I was going to travel down. My wife eventually convinced me to buy it. She is so awesome!

X-23 – Koto

My most recent piece, and once more thanks to my wife. She tossed me a couple hundred and told me to get something. I got X, and the aforementioned Emma, though I'm beginning to think it's not to be.

Oh and for those who question the paint job - I was very fortunate, she is nearly perfect. Of course she is #003 of 1000.
