Who remembers channel U68?
Back in the mid-80's in the NY NJ area there was channel U68. If you had cable you wouldn't have seen it. The only way to get it was good old fashioned rabbit ears. It was MTV for those of us too poor to have MTV. Uncle Floyd was a regular on the channel and on Friday nights they had the Power Hour which was a metal show. They played all the stuff that MTV wouldn't play. I'll never forget this big blonde guy named Thor, his band was also called Thor. He would give public service annoucements like "Eat your vegetables kids so you can tear apart a phone book", or "Don't smoke so you can blow up a medicine bottle", and "Brush your teeth so you can bend this metal rod". Then he would do this stuff. U68 only lasted a couple years before it became news only than a shopping channel. It was great while it lasted.
