Thumbs up Art at the big apple con...

Well I have to say I had a great time with glactus and his friend Mike at the apple con getting some pieces done. The show sucked for buyers looking for statues. I walked the whole show about 15 minutes becasue it was so dead.
As I was walking by the artist section I saw a batman head and upper sketch that caught my eye. I asked the artist how much for art work and who he made the sketch for. HE asked if I liked the batman and I said yes. It was intended for a customer that did not pick it up on saturday he said he would sell them for $40 but would take $20 becasue the guy never showed. I dropped my $20 on the table. His twin brother had some panel art he did for captain america and I asked him to make me a head sketch of capt and would pick it up in a bit. The two brothers were really cool guys to talk to
their names were Guy and Ian Dorian. Galactus decided to get a Thanos done by Guy and paid for it. Mark Texeria showed up about 2 and since I was waiting for Drew to get his Thanos I decided to get my Wolverine done. I asked him for a head sketch and gave him 50 bucks and told him to do something for my son. His wife called me and told me it was ready , he added arms and the upper body. HE went a bit crazy bit didnt want to charge me more becasue I have know him for a while, about the time I was a senior in high school he would come to my freinds comic shop. I gave him another $20 and can't wait to get more done by him , he made a killer Moon Knight for Galactu's friend and a couple more Wolverine's for people that asked.
Next time I email him with another commision. In all a good day. If it wasnt for the onion people that were walking about smelling like death the show would have been perfect !

Art can be a dangerous thing indeed !!!!!

The quickest way to double your money is to fold it in half and put it back in your pocket.

Ian Dorian is a great guy, he came into my shop a while back before he started going to Big Apple Shows, i've only bumped into Guy at the shows.Tex loves what he does. he'll spend all the time in the world b.s.ing with you.
