Second episode and the story is losing me a bit.

Thanks for this. It was great & I hope to stumble upon more free opportunities, but I'm just not gonna bite on yet another pay-for subscription service. I'd rank this opener right up there with any solid episode of the original TNG.

Same. It's actually cheaper to buy movies/TV shows on Blu-ray or DVD than to pay for multiple subscription services (and not have enough time to watch everything offered anyway).

That’s not difficult though

Another good episode...

Anybody else noticed that it seems like every officer in Star Fleet is female

I noticed that as well. Seems to be the way a lot of action/sci-fi TV shows are going now.

Starfleet headquarters looks a lot like the Long Beach Convention Center.

Women in uniform? No complaints here!

Totally . I compare it to an almost Amazon Headquarters kind of scene. Modern society throughout the pilot seemed to be more "our-world" than the futuristic society sometimes demonstrated in TNG.

I had no idea the character (Kirsten Clancy) and actress (Ann Magnuson) playing the Starfleet Commander-in-Chief was previously on TNG. Regardless of her present position and rank to address one of her former commanding officers as depicted, she should be launched out of a photon torpedo tube. No need to wait until she dies.
