I went to a general store. They wouldn't let me buy anything specifically.

Paasche H-SET Single Action Airbrush for newbie?

Hi guys,

Since i missed jerseyfest, and could not find any classes that teach airbrushing (other than makeup lessons!!). I plan to just buy a starter set and give it a go myself.

Is this a good starter kit to buy for someone who never used an airbrush? My immediate goal is to do minor touch up and fixes for statues I have that has paint issues etc..

It seems to have good reviews and is labeled as a beginner set:

PAASCHE H AIRBRUSH SET w/Quiet AIR BRUSH COMPRESSOR (http://www.amazon.com/PAASCHE-AIRBRU...X4/ref=lh_ni_t)

Is there a special type of paint that's needed for airbrushing or can i just use my regular tamiya flat color acrylic paints?

thanks!!

Personally, I prefer a gravity feed AB, as opposed to a suction AB. If you're going to invest money into this hobby, I would suggest saving your money and getting either an Iwata HP-B, an HS Infinity, a Sotar 20/20 or Renegade Velocity. BTW, that "quiet compressor" you'll soon find it's not so quiet after you get it.

As far as paints go, any paint that's thinned enough to get through the airbrush will work, acrylics are best, but if you want great paints, I suggest investing in airbrush ready paints:
