when I see the two side by side, I think the Bowen's Phoenix looks so much more like Phoenix.

really? hmm. did u read the older comics? maybe it has to do with the time frame of when we each started readin em. i know i have to like the art for me to even start reading it. lol

I do like Jim Lee's X-MEN and some of the older X-MEN,but when I think of Phoenix it is with her eyes whited out and growing powerful.

I think Jean's eyes as Green Phoenix are only whited out about about 10 percent of the time. Most of the time they're green.
Dark Phoenix's eyes are usually white.
But Jean's also been shown with red or orange so it's really all up to the artist.
