What's With These Online Gamers?
I'm quite new to the whole world of online gaming, and I've recently become addicted to a tennis game called Top Spin 3 (PS3) - I really love the whole idea of playing people around the world with a player that I've built up from scratch.
But lately things have gone from being a lot of fun to turning quite nasty. There have been several instances over the past few weeks where, if I have beaten someone, they've sent nasty messages to my 'Received' box. I've even received an abusive message after the guy had beaten me in a match!!
Is this something that goes on more often than not, or have I just been unlucky?

I haven't done any online gaming myself, but have watched a bunch of my friends play online. And it seems to be quite commonplace amongst the gamers to act this way.
I guess it is easy for the gamer geek to get so-called beer muscles or gaming muscles when you have the security of anonymity!
Not a place for me!

remember that you are playing every age and type pf person when you are online. i never let it get to me. if someone wants to be annoying i just ignore them. usually they leave for someone they can piss off.
i love the online games. you group up and things get slow and you find out you are playing with 13, 21, 36, 48 year olds male and female. from all over the world. its pretty cool

Cant you avoid them, I mean you can mute them and report them correct?
You must be very good! There is always someone out there that plays the same game over and over and over again! (like you~!) and that kicks my butt!!
I play lots of games and am not good at any LOL. I mean one game bores me after a while no matter how challanging it may be.
So why dont you start telling them dont be a sore loser cause you are just that good!

I'm not sure if they can be reported, well at least I haven't seen a way of doing so. I'm not sure how much action will be taken even if there was a way.
The thing that gets me is that people who BEAT ME actually send nasty messages. I don't understand the mentality of these idiots. I've even had abuse in other languages!! I only found out last night what "Tricheur de merde" meant!
I think the whole online play thing is great, but as with most things you always get a minority who have no social decorum and want to mess things up.
