He didn't use a pencil. I'm not sure what he used to be honest with you but they almost seemed to be a crayons of some type. I'll see if I can find out.

The crazy thing was that he didn't have any type of penciled outline on the page at all. He just started drawing from the eyes and worked his way out from there. It was incredible to watch.

he seems to use artists style charcoal , often used for larger sized pieces .
