I imagine with the success of Logan & Deadpool were probably going to see more R rated X-Men movies. Darker in content. Which IMO fits the X-Men universe more so then Fox's early X-Men movies which felt very watered down with their PG Content.

The editing of this trailer could give the movie more of a horror vibe then it really is. I don't expect X-Men to go all Demonic, so I'll wait for a full trailer to see what it's about, but it defiantly looks more darker....

Yikes...movie has been delayed 10 months, pushing its release from April 13, 2018 to Feb. 22, 2019.

A week after Valentines because that makes perfect sense for a 'horror' movie.

Studios release horror and psychological thriller films throughout the year, all the time.

The Insidious films dropped in September, June, and January.

Get Out dropped in February.

IT dropped in September.

Silence of the Lambs -- February (Valentine's Day of 1991 to be exact).

I'd rather have the studio work on making a solid horror film than a half-hearted one. 2019 is fine by me.

Bigger story than the proximity to Valentines day, is that a film that was to be released in three months time has now been pushed back almost an entire year....

I read that test audiences didn't rate it as highly as the studio had hoped.

First film was released in September --a month before Halloween. The sequels were simply building on the original's audience.

This was nominated in the Musical/Comedy category at the Golden Globes, and written/directed by a comedian. Not exactly ideally suited for an October release.

A month before Halloween. Makes sense.

Correct me if I'm wrong but this was considered a crime thriller from its original novel and the film won 5 Academy Awards right?

Name me a 'horror' film that received the same number of accolades and I'll give you this one.

Yes, I don't think it had anything to do with the Fox/Disney deal.

I'm still hoping this means that Disney puts the Fox stuff on perma hold and decides to do them right. I'm more concerned about the second attempt at a Dark Phoenix movie than I am about New Mutants though. We have the evidence of one horrific attempt at a Dark Phoenix movie in the Fox dumpster already, and there's no need to go down that path again and produce another inferior Dark Phoenix movie. It's a waste of time to produce such a miserable product.

With regards to New Mutants, I'll hold judgement until we have evidence of the actual product. For now, it's unknown. But putting it on hold for another year isn't a good sign.

April 3rd 2020 release date has been pushed back to later this year because of the coronavirus pandemic: https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/he...mpression=true
