According to Deadline, Rupert Sanders will direct the Ghost in the Shell adaptation. Sanders will be working from a script penned by writer William Wheeler. It will be produced by the DreamWorks.

Studios get a lot of discussion about how actors should represent the image and ethnicity in comics but looking at the images above none of them look Japanese.

That's because the setting is changed to Manhattan from Tokyo. These drawings belong to the cancelled project anyway. But there's still possibility that it may be revived at some point.

Ah so all we need to do with Fantastic Four is change the location from NY to Tokyo and everyone will be fine about it.

i can understand where your coming from Bulls,
and i have to agree. the story is set in the post-apocalyptic community of Neo-Tokyo. not Manhattan. im glad they scrapped it. should be taking place in Tokyo and should definitely have Japanese actors.

now as far as Voltron is concerned thats another story.
the Voltron force consists of "space explorers" and all of them look dramatically different from one another and clearly are from different races. so in that case it works just fine. but what i dont like is Voltron being shown in NY city.
all of those concepts look killah. but def not liking where they may think of it taking place.
dont really know why Hollywood has to sterilize these films if being made and have them take place here in the US. they could easily have them take place in the original locations that they took place ij in the anime. Akria in Neo-Tokyo and Votlron on planet Arus.

now if they want to incorporate Voltron Vehicle force. i could see that robot being in NY city for it was created on planet earth. i guess Voltron could travel to planet earth there for being in NYC.

man how i would love to see all of these come to fruition. Ghost in the Shell, Akira, Voltron, would love to see Thundercats as well. if they make all those. then all they need to do is make the greatest Anime film of all time (IMO) into a live action film, Ninja Scroll.
