I just did a close-up comparisson of the face and there's a realy HUGE difference in paint app between the proto and production piece. The latter has a realy flat paint app showing no detail at all in comparisson to the proto which has an insane amount of detail. Apart from that the goatee seems to be painted too low on these last pictures making his chin look abnormaly long. Shame realy as these details would make the difference between a cool statue and a masterpiece imo...

The more I look at it the more I'm realy disapointed in the final execution of the paint app. The proto shows the real rough and aged Kratos whereas the final production piece looks like it was mass painted in a hurry - all the detail that made the piece what is was for me is lost

Yeah from those pictures there is a clear dropoff. What is weird is that the face of armored version looks better to me. I wonder if it's just paint that makes the difference here if a retouch will help it along or if it would need more help then that.

There's only so far you can blame it on low res images. I'm comparing these specific images which might not be 4K quality but alas low res they are not...

Agreed but if you do a mental zoom of the face you would agree that its the above-right pic that takes form

Believe me no-one would rather see this turn out great than me I have both reg and ex on order but I think we should be prepared for a small let-down...

Truthfully no matter how experienced we claim to be it's those details that get us to spend this kind of money. How many of us would have PO'd based on the in hand pictures we have seen so far?

Which is what sucks about this and buying statues in general.
Excitement for the fantasy of the prototype and disappointment from the reality of the mass production.

Hope always springs eternal.

I'm still waiting for more pictures or getting this myself but I will hold it to some strict standards set by the prototype. If it doesn't meet expectations then it has to go.
