Batgirl Black and White Statue - New 52 Redesign

Just saw these posted on Jim Lee and Geoff Johns' Instagram. Looking pretty sweet!

Based on Cameron Stewart and Babs Tarr's artwork.
Sculpted by Irene Maher.
I think we can assume she'll be a limited edition of 5200.

The person who posted the last image wrote "September 2015" as the release date, but that's yet to be confirmed. Currently DC has set a release for Fall 2015.

I'll update these when better photos surface.

Looks very nice and a good way to promote the current Batgirl comics. However...
  1. Not the classic Batgirl I grew up reading
  2. Not the cartoon Batgirl I grew up watching
  3. Irritated that Norm Breyfogle continues to be passed up
  4. Would like a new Catwoman please (Tim Sale, Jim Balent)

Do they have any plans to release a Batgirl based on the Batman TAS?

I don't think collectors are privy to what B&W statues are in development. I would've gotten THIS Batgirl instantly.

strange choice for the first batgirl in this line.

Having said that, it does look to be executed well.

I had a feeling they'd do a statue of the redesign, only because it was so hyped and popular. Thought it would have been a Cover Girl or something though.

With that said, I'm really digging this piece. Definitely going to try and get an order it - I have a strong feeling this will be similar to the Harley B&W where it sells out really quickly with a second edition variant not far behind.

Not sure why DC doesn't just do a line of Bruce Timm statues. Those would sell like crazy.
They have action figures based on the Animated Series and those look great (and I'm not even a fan of action figures!)

Clicked this link hoping it was BTAS Batgirl. Shuckers.

The Batgirl is really well done and I like the very different style, but it's not what I need to own.

Very cute. I like that they focus on different artists. I would have liked aTimm version but I still think this one is cool.

They may have not used a Bruce Timm design, but it is indeed far too cute to pass up.
