Sparks - Kimono My House and Propaganda
I recall seeing a video or two of theirs on MTV, as well as an appearance on SNL - all in the very early '80s. I'd never explored their music until recently, and I am floored. Russell and Ron Mael are still performing, which is impressive enough on its own, but what really blows me away is their early '70s output: operatic glam rock on par with what Queen was doing at the time. I'm astonished that I'd overlooked this until now. The two albums mentioned above are highly recommended.

The Stranglers - Peaches: The Very Best of The Stranglers
Aside from a couple of singles, I never really appreciated this band back in the day. I guess time has helped me to realize their talent, as I thoroughly enjoyed this compilation.

Iggy Pop - Post-Pop Depression (2016)
Iggy's latest (possibly last?) release. Almost 50 years in the business, and it sounds like he wants to bow out gracefully. This is an excellent way to do it.
Monoton - Monotonprodukt07 (1982)
A contemporary of Kraftwerk and other experimental electronica, this is more trance-like, but occasionally aggressive. It still sounds fresh.

The Rolling Stones - Undercover (1983)
Stylistically, this album has a lot in common with Tattoo You, but the occasional "modern" touches are awkward. I suppose that's what threw me off when it was released. It didn't do much for me then, but revisiting it now, it's actually pretty good.

I'm still listening to it. I think she's skipping and no mute button either.

Two new albums out this week that I'm excited for. The first being a new album from my favorite band Korn, which is very good if you like loud music! The second being from a brilliant Nordic band Wardruna who are unlike anything else I listen too. Powerful, spiritual and beautiful.
