Silvestri does play 2nd fiddle compared to Jim Lee.

I don't know why?

I consider there work equaly impressive.

About the smoothing out, that's a good idea for Hal.

I'm excited about the hair update.

Your Kraven portrait have very detailed hair and that was made by traditional sculpting, so I'm curious if you can make it as detailed or even more detailed with your cg sculpting.

Exciting stuff!

there is one thing that i am noticing. did you just sculpt one half of this and then reverse it and then splice them together ?
because im seeing a lot of the same looking muscles on both sides when comparing them. and the veins on the bicep appears to be the same way too. it would make scene to do it this way though i would think and then go back and make things asymmetrical. if thats what you are doing thats brilliant and would save you a ton of work and time.

I think I can get the hair there to the same level... I spent all of my sculpting time this weekend on that stupid hair But in the end it will be pretty cool I think.

I'll post some pics today as I'll be working on him again on my lunch break.

Not quite... but damn near... Zbrush has a "symmetry" button... there are different ways to sculpt a piece in zbrush.

1) take the pieces as far as you need with symmetry turned on and THEN adjust the pose, non symmetrical elements to your liking.

2) turn symmetry off and go to town.

I have done both.

Wolverine for Bowen was COMPLETELY "symmetry free"

and Hal here still has symmetry on since his pose is basically symmetrical anyway (save for the hair)

Now... I will adjust certain things at the end on Hal... but more so on the full figure piece when I pose him.

"symmetry" can be lazy depending on how much you rely on it, but it does have it's uses if you don't rely on it 100%... which I NEVR will.

aahh yes. well thats pretty cool.
and your right, dont want human anatomy to be perfectly symmetrical. but i can see how it would have its advantages.
your knocking this one out of the pack Kieth.
looking forward to the hair you've been talking about.

one version is the bust... the other will be a full figure piece in a different pose! The legs are still there... just hidden
