My Supergirl arrived today and she appears to be fine. Stuck her back in the box since I have no place to currently put her. This costume is my all-time favorite. Now if they would just do the Elseworld's Finest Supergirl (and Batgirl).....

Just got my regular in from Entertainment Earth (double boxed, which was nice).
Box is labeled 461 of 510, but of course the base isn't numbered.
So just a few over 650 total it looks like.

I wish I could say the face looks better in person, but I can't- at least not to me. In fact, it's even more gruesome than I expected.
Wide open eyes and a wide, open mouth smile always looks creepy and psychotic. I can't understand how anyone footing the bill to produce and market this could have approved this face as is.

I've got her on a high shelf now and turned to such an angle that the portrait isn't really the focal point.

I also agree from the neck down it's wonderful. Damn near perfect (although I have a odd paint anomaly on the cape).

I also like the size to price ratio.

I'm hoping in time the totality of the piece will satisfy.
I think it will.
In the larger scheme, it's really only a tiny element that I'm not crazy about. And even then angle and light help mitigate it.
Everything else is great!

hey Pdenham,
you are a more tolerable collector than I am. My LCBS has the Bowen Invisible Woman statue for sale for only $75. It is the first Sue Richards statues that was done. I like the sculpt but for even $75 I cannot bring myself to purchase it because I do not like her facial expression (it has too much of a "oh Reed, what shall we do now?" look). That was the reason also why I sold my Bowen Medusa statue because I did not like the facial sculpt on it yet the statue itself was fantastic.

That's actually quite faithful to the way Kirby used to portray her, though.

I mean the damsel in distress expression you mention, not that it resembles Kirby's art.

I do agree with you that is how Kirby draw her half the time but I wish that the face either had a smile or a serious look on it.

That's completely understandable. I was being semifacetious.

but there is the argument that it is only $75 (and that includes the box). If a really good Invisibly Woman statue existed, that would be the other character of the FF I would want (I already have the Thing, a character every statue collector should have a statue of in my opinion)
