I had a look at some more penguins on my way home today, and each 1 of them had the problem with his glasses (half a ring) - so it is the norm on the production piece.

I don't have much eaglemoss but judging from pics some characters are better than others..

the digital sculpts are pretty bad ass (impressed by the effort/attention to detail) and of course not all the detail is going to translate across to the medium at such a small scale:

These things have awesome details for a miniature tho, and something about them is addicting

Does anyone in the US know if or when the third figure is coming out (Robin)?

I've started collecting, based on the fact that there are only 32 pieces to collect, but my payment schedule states there are 64 issues?

Anyone know if this is an additional set? I would imagine it is a Superman theme set.

I just hope by issue 32 i dont end up with 4 knight variants and not enough pawns.

many thanks

Ryan

Penguin came out this week and the eyeglass is defective? Thx, I'll have to keep an eye out for that when I go pick mine up.

small print on the ad says 'complete in 32 issues, which makes sense, but still doesn't explain why i have issues 33 - 64 in my payment schedule?

probably for the superman set. The LOTR chess sets ran for three

edit

looking more closely at the mag, it says that " the set's alternative white/black kingis based on..." So could we be getting 2 figurines per chess piece??

o I got the TDKR variant kings and Batgirl today. Inside the mag of TDKR, it lists all the pieces and they are as follows:

Quote:
White pieces
  • Rook: Batwoman & Huntress
  • Knight: Red Robin & Batgirl
  • Bishop: Nightwing & Robin(Damien)
  • Queen: Catwoman
  • King: Batman
  • Pawns: The Question (female); Batwing (N52); Robin (Spoiler); Jim Gordon; Alfred; Azrael; Katana; Black Canary (?)
Quote:
Black Pieces
  • Rook: Killer Crok & Man Bat
  • Knight: Two-Face & Penguin
  • Bishop: Riddler & Ra's Al Ghul
  • Queen: Harley Quinn
  • King: Joker
  • Pawns: Red Hood (N52); ScarFace & Ventriloquist; lack Mask; Hush; Bane; Poison Ivy; Scarecrow; Mr Freeze
One thing to note is that in the promo pics for this, they showed a red hood figure from the joker's origin, yet the picture shown in the mag is clearly Jason Todd. Is this going to be a special?

I'd love a superman set from eaglemoss, with all the different alts for superman

Here is another cool Batman chess set from a diff company:

"A press of the Batman symbol illuminates 50 LED lights encircling the clear playing surface that lights the board, the Gotham cityscape underneath and projects a Bat-Signal to the sky. No detail has been overlooked in this ultimate Batman collector's chess set. The joker, Catwoman, Riddler and penguin battle Batman, Robin, Batgirl and commissioner Gordon. The oversized board measures 20 inches in length on each side. Playing pieces measure between 2 1/2 to 5 1/2 inches tall and are made in fine pewter and diecast metal"

Eaglemoss is better how you get 32 different characters (plus you get the mags/art), but this one I have to admit is nicely done and a cool novelty how you can play in the dark with board litten up and the bat signal projecting up - atmospheric way to play chess

Their avatar looks cool too, but I don't like Avatar enough to warrant a purchase
