Sure thing brother. The series is called "A Song of Ice and Fire." There's four books out now with a fifth coming in July I believe. First book is called "A Game of Thrones" and season one will cover it with each season covering another book in it's entirety.
Books are amazing if you love fantasy though. They can be brutal though, and may lead you to throw your copy across the room at a point or ten. I definately recommend them. the third book "A Storm of Swords" is one of my favorite fantasy books of all time.
The only downside is the delay between books, but hopefully the shows success will light a fire under the authors butt.
